We are not just a general contractor, but are first and foremost members of our community, as individuals and as a business. It is this mindset that drives us to work with all members of our project teams—owners, architects, subcontractors, tenants and others—as partners in enhancing the communities in which we work and live.
In addition to management and staff being actively involved with local non-profit organizations, we give back to our communities in a variety of ways.
With this program, we waive all of our profits on one project per year. The projects vary, but the goal is the same—to build facilities that create a stronger community.
Brown Construction annually supports the “Contractors Caring for Kids” program and contributes monetarily to other area organizations, particularly those aimed at providing services to families and children in need.
Our company culture, centered around community, comes from the top of the organization, Ron Brown. Ron is past Board President and active Board Member for The Effort, whose mission is to break the cycles of abuse, addiction, homelessness and mental health issues for children, parents and individuals. Ron is the former President of CSU Sacramento’s Construction Management Education Foundation, whose purpose is to foster more graduates in Construction Management. He is an active mentor, working with the CM students who compete in an annual national CM competition. Ron is also a Board Member of the Sacramento Builders Exchange.
