  • Ron Brown

    President and CEO

    Ron Brown has over 30 years of experience in construction management. His experience spans a broad range of project types including commercial, multi-family, institutional and retail projects, which provides a solid leadership foundation for the company. He is actively involved in the company’s projects, and his focus on improving communities permeates the culture of Brown Construction. Ron is currently on the Board of Directors for the Sacramento Builders Exchange and is the past President of the Board for The Effort. Ron is also the past President of the Board for the Sacramento Construction Management Education Foundation (CSMEF) of Sac State.

  • Liz McCapes

    Vice President, Multi-Family Construction

    Liz McCapes is responsible for the multi-family housing projects for the company. She has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. For the past decade, Liz’s focus has been multi-family housing including substantial mixed-use projects, senior communities, large housing complexes, and affordable housing. The success of her projects revolves around her expertise with this specific project type, particularly related to cost containment/value engineering and the complex management requirements of these developments.

  • Matt DeFazio

    Vice President, Commercial Construction

    Matt DeFazio is responsible for the commercial, institutional, retail and civic projects for the company. He has more than 20 years of construction management experience. This background, combined with his degrees in architecture and construction management, provides our clients with a unique depth of experience, particularly for design-build and design-assist projects. Matt has successfully overseen construction for a broad range of projects, including large commercial office developments, complex laboratory and research facilities, retail centers, entire school campuses, and significant civic facilities.

  • Kathryn McGuire

    Vice President of Operations

    Kathryn McGuire oversees all of the human resource, legal, operating and technology requirements of the company. She has 20 years of experience in business management, including 15 years with Brown Construction. Kathryn is an officer of the corporation.

  • Matt Carota

    Chief Financial Officer

    Matt Carota is responsible for the fiscal health of the company. He is a certified public accountant with over 15 years of experience in all aspects of financial management and reporting, including budgeting and forecasting.

  • Joe Kerekgyarto

    Chief Estimator

    Joe Kerekgyarto manages all aspects of estimating for the company’s projects, including value engineering and other preconstruction services. He has over 30 years of experience in estimating for a wide range of project types including commercial, housing, institutional, retail and industrial.
