Brown Construction gives top priority to safety which is reflected in our exceptional safety record. We have been recognized by both OSHA and Cal-OSHA as a leader in safety management and programs in the construction industry.

We have been certified by OSHA on the federal level as a VPP contractor (Voluntary Protection Program). At the state level, we were one of the first commercial general contractors to be certified as Cal/SHARP (California Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program). Both of these certifications involved a rigorous audit of our safety programs, systems and numerous jobsites by OSHA and Cal-OSHA.

In addition to weekly safety meetings at each jobsite, we discuss safety with each individual trade person that comes to work on the jobsite. We ensure that they are aware of the emphasis we place on safety, and what rules, requirements and expectations are for them on a daily basis. Each jobsite has safety regulations in place that are specific to the needs and issues on that site, which are overseen by the Project Superintendent.
