Liz McCapes

Liz joined Brown Construction in 1989 and today serves as Executive Vice President. Over the years, she has helped lead the firm through periods of growth and evolution, while staying grounded in the company’s core values of integrity, collaboration, and service. Since joining the executive team in 2002, Liz has brought deep experience across a broad spectrum of project types, from multifamily housing and mixed-use developments to large commercial and institutional work.

Over the past two decades, Liz has focused her efforts on multifamily housing, leading the successful delivery of more than 10,000 units of affordable housing. She is recognized for her expertise in navigating complex financing mechanisms—including HCD, HUD, Tax Credits, VASH, HOME funds, and AHP—and for her ability to align teams with project goals while building enduring client relationships. For Liz, leadership is about trust: earning it, reinforcing it, and honoring it at every stage of the project.

Just as committed to her community as she is to her work, Liz is an active civic leader. She is a charter member of her local Rotary Club and served as its president in 2012–2013. She currently leads as Board President of International House, Davis, a nonprofit supporting global understanding and exchange, and also serves on the board of the Greater Willowbank Improvement Association.
