After more than 30 years at its West Sacramento office, Brown Construction, Inc. is making a bold move — and it’s more than just a change of address. The company is building its new headquarters in one of the region’s most dynamic urban developments: the Bridge District.

This marks a major milestone for Brown Construction, a firm with deep roots in the Sacramento area. Founded by William (Bill) Brown in 1964, the company began primarily building single-family and multifamily housing in Northern California. Over the decades, Brown evolved into a leading general contractor in the Sacramento region. In 1993, the company planted its roots in West Sacramento to be closer to its growing client base — and now, it’s poised to grow again.

Building the Future — and Calling It Home

In 2024, construction began on Brown Construction’s brand-new mid-rise headquarters along the Sacramento River at Pierside — a vibrant, mixed-use community in the heart of the Bridge District. But this isn’t just another project for Brown. It’s personal.

“There’s a real sense of pride among our team. We’re not only the builders of this incredible development — we’re going to live here too. This is our new home.”

Ron Brown
President & CEO

Pierside is a 396,000-square-foot development consisting of a seven-story, 260-unit multifamily building and a five-story, 59,000-square-foot commercial and amenity building. The residential portion includes five levels of wood-framed luxury apartments over a two-level concrete podium with a 95,000-SF parking garage, leasing offices, 21 townhomes, and a 15,000-SF pool deck. Additional features include an expansive 23,000-SF courtyard with outdoor amenities for residents.

The commercial building includes 4,600 SF of retail, a 6,000-SF fitness center, and upper floors dedicated to private office space. Brown Construction will relocate its headquarters here alongside Fulcrum Property, the project’s developer.

A Shared Vision with Fulcrum Property

Fulcrum Property has been instrumental in the long-term development of the Bridge District. The company has helped transform the area into one of the region’s most significant urban redevelopment efforts.

Why the Bridge District?

The Bridge District is quickly becoming one of the most desirable locations in the Sacramento region. Located along the Sacramento River with clear views of the downtown skyline, the area offers a strong mix of walkability, entertainment, and access to open space. It’s also home to The Barn — a unique venue operated by Drake’s Brewing Company and built by Brown Construction — and just steps from Sutter Health Park, home of the River Cats and the Athletics.

A Space for Growth

For Brown Construction, the move reflects more than a location change — it’s a strategic step as the company continues to expand. The new headquarters will provide the space and infrastructure to support its long-term growth, innovation, and culture.

Looking Ahead

With construction ahead of schedule and momentum building, Brown Construction’s relocation to Pierside marks an exciting new chapter in a story that started more than 61 years ago. The move represents more than just a new office — it’s a long-term investment in the people, the region, and the future of West Sacramento.
