Located in Berkeley, California, Stonefire is a 141,000-SF urban infill project offering 98 student apartments and 160 beds within an 8-story mixed-use building. Designed to optimize space in a dense urban setting, this innovative development also features 9,000 SF of retail and dining space on the ground floor, catering to both residents and the surrounding community. Stonefire is constructed with a type-I podium design, incorporating a 2-story cast-in-place concrete garage beneath the podium for subterranean parking. The above-grade structure is framed with structural metal studs to provide durability and flexibility in the building’s design. Stonefire represents the best of modern student housing, combining sustainable design, community-focused spaces, and the convenience of urban living.
