Yolo Food Bank

A Build It Forward not-for-profit project that transformed and expanded an existing warehouse into Yolo Food Bank's new headquarters

The Yolo Food Bank renovation and expansion transformed an existing 39,000-SF warehouse into their 48,000-SF operations headquarters in Woodland, CA. The project significantly increased the Food Bank’s food storage capacity, enhanced their food distribution capability, and added community support spaces that didn’t exist prior. The project added offices, conference rooms, food sorting areas, and instructional commercial kitchens, along with 4,300 SF of freezers and coolers for perishable goods. Spanning three acres, the site development improved accessibility and logistics for increased food access and distribution.

As a Build It Forward project, Brown waived all profits and worked with subcontractors and suppliers to reduce construction costs as much as possible, so that more dollars go toward supporting Yolo Food Bank’s mission and expanding its reach to more residents throughout Yolo County.
