Safety Counts

Ensuring that all who step foot on our job sites goes home safely at the end of the day is our highest priority and most critical duty as a general contractor.

For the Record

Our exceptional safety record goes well beyond the construction industry average.

Prior to the start of construction, we conduct a thorough jobsite hazard analysis specific to the needs and issues related to each site. This and current hazards on site are reviewed and discussed at weekly safety meetings at each job site.

We review site-specific safety protocols with every individual trade person working on our job sites to ensure they are aware of all hazards as well as Brown’s rigorous protocols, requirements, and expectations.

And on every Brown Construction job site there will be a competent person for every subcontractor as well as a Brown Construction safety proxy with current training in confined space/trench safety and scaffold safety. Our staff maintain current certificates and are encouraged to pursue additional safety training certificates annually.

All Brown Construction superintendents are, at a minimum:

  • CPR & First-Aid Certified
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certified
  • Trained in heat illness prevention
  • Trained in fall protection and fall rescue
  • Trained in trench safety

Leadership Perspective

Kent Keller walking Holden IL job site in Roseville

“Don’t let the safest day on your job site be the day after an accident. The key is to be prepared and educated on risks and prevention at all times. I give people the information they need to get home safe each day.”
